'An exciting home': Mull Historical Society's Colin MacIntyre signs to Mute Song

Mull Historical Society’s Colin MacIntyre has signed a deal with Mute Song.

The publishing arm of Daniel Miller’s Mute Records is responsible for the likes of Nick Cave, Goldfrapp, New Order, Depeche Mode and Underworld, a roster that the singer-songwriter said had impressed him.

"I’m very excited to be part of the Mute family. I have been an admirer of Mute and Daniel Miller for a long time, loving both their musical and artist-friendly aesthetic," MacIntyre explained.

"So I’m very pleased to now be published by Mute Song, led by David McGinnis and his team. It feels like the right fit for me and an exciting home for both my recorded music and my stage musical ambitions going forwards."

The new deal will include the last, Bernard Butler-produced Mull Historical Society album Wakelines, which Xtra Mile Recordings released last year, and MacIntyre’s forthcoming electro art-pop project Field Stars which will be out soon.
